Flower Crown Shoot - Melissa

I just spent an amazing afternoon exploring the coastline around historic Gibsons with two of the most amazing ladies; my friend/model Melissa and my mom/photographer Moka G!  We were on a mission to find the perfect location to photograph the flower crown I had spent the morning painstakingly perfecting. Whats that you say? Who spends an entire morning making a flower crown? Well me, of course! And if you follow this blog, you know that I just LOVE them. I've been hooked on crown-making ever since I took an amazing seminar at Celsia Florist in Kitsilano and I have been making crowns professionally ever since!

This particular flower crown consists of a greens base made from eucalyptus, a beautiful foliage with a soft, dusty green color. I chose classic blooms; roses and lisanthus. I like placing flowers in clusters and never using too many. A crown should enhance the subject and not overpower or distract from them. By choosing soft tones (light pinks and ivory), Melissa's beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes become the centerpiece. Each crown should be designed and made based on the features and attire of the particular lady wearing it. A trained designer will know what colors and blooms to use to accentuate the wearer's face and features.  Want a flower crown made just for you? I design and create them for weddings and photoshoots.
